Who needs this?

Employers with loud noises in their facilities must protect employees who may experience hearing loss as a result of the noise exposure. Ontario’s Ministry of Labour requires employers to implement a hearing protection program when average noise levels are over 85 decibels.

The audiometric testing programs are designed to accurately assess hearing ability, detect early signs of hearing loss, and support effective hearing conservation efforts in the workplace.

These assessments are essential for identifying potential hearing damage and tracking changes in hearing health over time.

The Service:

Volume hearing tests are conducted onsite at your facility with a mobile hearing testing truck or, in select cases, with portable audiometers. The audio truck can test up to 4 employees every 15 minutes.

The service includes:  

• Hearing history questionnaire administered with each employee

• Full audiometric (hearing) test of each employee

• Reporting package with summary report for employer and personal reporting letter for each employee

• Walkthrough presentation of results for first time clients: in person or via video call

The hearing report can be used to compare data across departments, or locations and can reveal important trends, helping employers evaluate the effectiveness of their hearing  conservation programs and pinpoint areas for improvement.

How it works:

1. You identify the list of employees with exposure to loud noise, and roughly how those employees split out over your shift schedule.

2. We schedule a mobile hearing testing truck and crew so we can test your employees on their shift schedule. Together, we agree on the schedule dates & times.

3. You notify employees. Our team arrives and we get to work.

What we need:

Our team needs a place to plug in the audio truck and a space to set up a portable table where employees can check in. Our audio truck requires a 120-volt circuit, used to power the house lights and equipment.
